October 2004

We have had lots of visitors this last week. Logan's Aunt Christy spent Monday night with us since she was on a business trip and need some nephew time. And Logan's Uncle Grant spent Thursday through today with us for part of his vacation. Logan really loved spending time with the two of them since they live so far away and he doesn't get to see them very often. Logan loved going into Grant's room and 'helping' him pack last night! Actually Grant had to wait until Logan went to bed because Logan kept unpacking Grant's suitcase. He had a great time!!!

I have had so much going on this week at home and I was on the road travelling for work. Friday I was getting out of the shower in my hotel room and my cell phone was ringing, it was Travis and he was bawling. I could hear Logan screaming in the background and all I could understand was I think Logan hurt his back. I said take him to the ER. Granted I was naked, still needed to pack and drive 2 and 1/2 hours. I was sobbing. So Travis drives Logan to the end of our street then realizes he will never make it to the hospital with Logan screaming in such pain. He parks his truck and calls 911. The ambulance comes and they check Logan all the way to the hospital. They can't find anything wrong. When they get to the ER the do a blood test on Logan. They find him to be severely dehydrated. Which is odd because he hasn't been sick. But other than that they find nothing wrong with him. The hook him up to an IV. I make it to the ER around 11am. And fall into Travis' arms bawling. Logan is sleeping now. Poking and prodding him wore him out. He looked horrible. No color at all. After they filled his IV container twice they rechecked his blood and his levels had gone up. And we were released. We were told to watch him for a fever because his symptoms were signs of meningitis only he didn't have a fever. If one comes on we are to take him immediately to the ER. No fever all weekend and he acted like he felt much better. He was however crying when we touched by his right shoulder blade or if he turned too fast. What a day. The nurses kept saying maybe he just made himself sick because he missed his mommy. Gosh I hope not, I am about to be out of town every other week until November!!!

Logan is doing much better today! Thank the Lord. I am still going to watch him and we have been having him drink like crazy!
