Logan and Cole

July 2008

Baby Abby and Aunt Christy came to visit for the weekend and the boys got to see what life with a baby was like. Logan LOVES his baby cousin. Cole was Cole and just ignored. I wasn't surprised by that. My friend Diana took pictures of the kids on Saturday, I hope we got at least one good one. Cole was the one we had trouble getting to cooperate. Once again, no big surprise there. I put some pics of the visit in a album. Check them out!!

Travis took Cole to the dr and he is on a stronger med this time to really knock it out. And then if this doesn't work she will try the antibiotic low dose action.

Logan and Cole keep passing around sickie germs!! At the beginning of the month Cole had strep. Well Logan was home sick yesterday. I knew that was what he had. I called the dr luckily she just gave me a prescription. This morning Cole wakes up and says Mommy my throat hurts. I feel the side of his neck. It is like a huge golf ball is in there. Great he has it again too. Seriously I mean, these kids have had more strep this year than any normal kid should ever have. I have another call into the dr to see if she will just give us another prescription so that I don't have to go back into see her. It has been less than a month since Cole had it, maybe it never completely went away... UGH!!!

And Abby comes on Thursday and I sure as heck don't want her to get it!

Whooo Hooo! Chuckee Cheese here we come!!! Now if I could just get him to tell me when he needs to go!!

Cole did great at school today with potty training. They even got him in undies after nap. It was when he got home things when downhill. As soon as we got home I had him go potty.

We are sitting at the dinner table and he says I went teetee and yep he did. That was #1. I get him changed into a new pair of undies. About 20 minutes later he on the living room floor playing cars and pees again. It was a huge puddle this time. That was #2. I get him changed and the pee soaked out of our new carpet. Then I get him settled on the couch on top of a towel and his 3rd set of undies. He then says I need to go poop. (At least he tells us that!) Travis takes him to the potty and we realize that he has peed again. This is about 30 min after the 2nd pee. It was not a little puddle either. Thank goodness I had put down a towel!

Seriously who knew someone could pee so much!! I think it was the sippy of milk he had as soon as he got home from school. Gotta remember not to give him one of those while potty training. Easier said than done since this kid LOVES milk!!

So he went the majority of the day dry.

What does it take to get Cole to use the potty all day? Bribing him with Chuckee Cheeses! Yep yesterday morning he asked when they were going to get to go and I said when you start using the potty all day and wearing underwear. Well I took him to school and told his teacher the deal. He used the potty all day.

He came home last night and his report said can put in underwear tomorrow. We called Gimmie and told her the good news. She of course told Daddo.

Well this morning I went to put underwear on him and he says, I don't like underwear, I like pull-ups and I told him the deal is to go to Chuckee Cheeses you have to be in underwear and dry not pull-ups. So I took 2 pair of underwear with him to school today to see if his teachers can get him in them.

But we are taking some major steps in the right direction! Who knew bribery to Chuckee Cheeses was what it would take??

4th of July was awesome at the Kincade household. We went to Lake Leon for the day and the boys absolutely LOVED the lake! They played like there was no tomorrow. They loved riding in the boat and this year they got to stay up for the fireworks! Cole kept saying, there are stars in the them! It was so cute!

But he had his ears tucked in themselves and then had his hands over his ears because he kept saying they were loud. By the time the big show arrived, Cole was so exhausted that he fell asleep. He missed the big show... Maybe next year!

We have had a pet loss. Shermie went to Hermit Crab heaven last night. He had been acting kind of strange this week and this morning I peeked in on him and noticed that he looked awfully still. Well he was dead.

I asked Logan to come with me and we talked about how Shermie had gone to a better place and what a good pet he was. We the called Gimmie to tell her.

I guess it went well and he didn't seem too upset.

Cole wanted to see to, so Travis took him to see.

Hermit crabs look really weird without their shells and we talked about that as well. It turned out to be a good science lesson on top of life lesson.

Had to take Cole to the dr. on Friday. He ended up having strep throat. New school, new germs. He is doing fine other than that. He is on antibiotics.
